I am from The Woodlands, Texas.  I began golfing when I was 9 and played junior golf, high school golf, and collegiate golf.  I currently compete on the Epson Tour (formerly known as the Symetra Tour), Women's All Pro Tour, East Coast Women's Pro Golf Tour, and Eggland's Best Golf Tour.  My favorite hobbies are cooking, watching cooking shows, reading and traveling.

Lakareber Updates

Lakareber Abe played and was victorious at THE JOHN SHIPPEN Shoot-Out Presented by Cognizant. This was an 18-hole stroke play competition played at Mountain Ridge Country Club in New Jersey on May 9. Winning this event Lakareber was awarded an exemption into the LPGA’s Cognizant Founders Cup (May 12-May 15) in Clifton, N.J. Lakareber said this was an eye opening experience. Per Lakareber, her main focus for her first-ever LPGA Tour is staying focused on what’s ahead of her and savoring the moment. “I'm two weeks into this journey. It's a newer adopted mentality, but I was telling my friends just joking, sometimes I'm just like, ‘Hey, Lak, where are your feet? They're on the third fairway. Just keep going.’ The last few rounds I've played my goal has been to have fun and be where my feet are. I'm going to try to do my best and do the same thing this week and just enjoy it and see what happens.”

Lakareber, got a second opportunity to play in THE JOHN SHIPPEN National Golf Invitational. This was a 36-hole stroke play competition played at Blythefield Country Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The winner of the event will earn an exemption into the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give (June 16–19), as well as an exemption into the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational, the LPGA tournament scheduled for July 13– 16 in Midland, Michigan. Although Sadena Parks was victorious, Lakareber tied for second place with Georgia Oboh (European LPGA). Marah Stackhouse played in this event so she was in good company.
